South Lake Tahoe Schools

There are four Elementary Schools, one Middle School, one High School and one continuation school that are part of the Lake Tahoe Unified School District located in South Lake Tahoe. The four elementary schools are Bijou Elementary, Sierra House Elementary, Tahoe Valley Elementary and Lake Tahoe Environmental Science Magnet School. All of the elementary schools serve kindergarten through fifth grades.
Bijou Elementary is located on Spruce Ave. in the Bijou neighborhood of South Lake Tahoe. The attendance boundaries for Bijou Elementary encompasses the neighborhoods of Al Tahoe, Pioneer Village and Bijou, west of Pioneer Trail and south of Ski Run Blvd. For the 2009-10 school year the student body consisted of 494 students.
Sierra House Elementary is located on the corner of Remington Trail and Pioneer Trail in the Montgomery States neighborhood of South Lake Tahoe. The attendance boundaries for Sierra House Elementary encompasses the neighborhoods of Stateline, Bijou-north of Ski Run Blvd. and west of Pioneer Trail, Montgomery Estates, Country Club Estates, Tahoe Paradise and Christmas Valley-north of Hwy. 89. For the 2009-10 school year the student body consisted of 461 students.
Tahoe Valley Elementary is located on Tahoe Island Drive in the Tahoe Island neighborhood of South Lake Tahoe. The attendance boundaries for Sierra House Elementary encompasses the neighborhoods of Sierra Tract, Tahoe Keys, Tahoe Island Park, Tahoe Island Drive, Gardner Mountain, Angora Highlands, North Upper Truckee, Echo View Estates, and Christmas Valley South of Hwy. 89. For the 2009-10 school year the student body consisted of 447 students.
Lake Tahoe Environmental Science Magnet School is located on East San Bernardino Avenue in the Meyers neighborhood of South Lake Tahoe. The school was established in September 2005 to provide project-based, thematic, interactive instruments using environment themes and technology. This school is open to all students in the district that are interested in attending. For the 2009-10 school year the student body consisted of 367 students.
South Tahoe Middle School is located in the center of town on the corner of Lake Tahoe Blvd. and the corner of Al Tahoe Blvd. It is the only middle school in the Lake Tahoe Unified School Districe and it serves sixth through eighth grade students. For the 2009-10 school year the student body consisted of 985 students.
South Tahoe High School is located off of Lake Tahoe Blvd. near the Gardner Moutain neighborhood. It is the only high school in the district and it serves ninth through twelve grade students. The enrollment is approximately 1200 students.
Mount Tallac Continuation High School is located on the same property as South Tahoe High School. It has an enrollment of approximately 100 students.
